I ordered the Toshiba DVD drive model number: SD-M1612 . I want to know the DAE for this unit. Does anyone know this? I checked the toshiba website, but did not see it.

Toshiba sucks for DAE, but is excellent for DVD ripping.

Plextor CDRW drives are great for DAE as are Ricoh (I heard), and even the newer Lite-On CDRW drives.

storagereview.com usually has good drive info with DAE testing also.

i dunno about that model, but toshiba historically has poor DAE.

here the top toshiba on the chart is #112 at 11.7 DAE and can't even do 8X on the fly cuz it starts so slow.
