My dad needs a cheap computer and I came up with this:

Celeron D 325 @ 2.53GHz
XP home
512MB DDR 400mhz ram
16x DVD burner
19" LCD (!!)
Intel Extreme Graphics (integrated crap)

Total: 450 bucks. This is a pretty good deal, mostly because of the LCD. It's not too shabby, with 8ms and 500:1.

The computer is going to be used for Email, Web browsing, MSN chat, flashgames and burning DVDs.

I think this will be a fine computer for what him and my sisters will be usually doing, where the most CPU intensive task will be downloading millions of emoticons. :p. My dads also shown some interest in burning some DVD movies, so I added the DVD drive in there.

Feedback?

PS: one question. I keep getting redirected to dell small business USA. Can I still order to canada?

how much extra does dell charge for a dvd burner? you can probably get a better one on newegg and installing it yourself.

i'd actually look at some refurbished dell. you can get a nice p4 for $450.

Is there a way to use a US e-value in canada? Can I just order from the US page if not?

Hehe, I just set up one of those for my uncle just last night! Actually not a bad deal. System seems pretty speedy for what hes gonna use it for. I made sure he got the warranty extension plan, it is a dell after all. :)
