I've been tempted too long to purchase a mobile barton, so I'm giving in! I'm going to buy a mobile 2600 and shoot for the stars.

Currently, I have an A7N8X-E mobo. However, I would like to not be restricted to 1.85v so I am going to replace it. What top of the line motherboard has the highest voltage limits? I am determined to get a massive overclock, and not settle for "just" (;)) 2.6ghz. What would be the best choice?

Along with my CPU and motherboard, I will be replacing my RAM. I only use 512MB so I'm looking into 256MB matched pairs to run in dual-channel mode. I don't have a need for anything over PC3700, so I'd really just like to get RAM that will run low CAS timings and outperform competition between 400mhz and 433mhz.

Links to benchmarks, reasoning (debates :p), and testimony would be awesome!

All help is GREATLY APPRECIATED! :)

unless you use chilled water or phase change I don't think much past 2.6ghz is a reasonable goal. If you have the cooling then the NF7-s and DFI LANParty got the Motts from what I've read ;)

NF7-s core voltage can set as high as 2.3v. That should be enough for the daring overclocking soul in you. Though, I'm sure there is a vmod to up it higher if you like.

Because we want to see you waste your money. ;)

Good luck w/ that mobile XP. You don't know how many times I've had that chip in my online shopping cart ready to buy. Each time I had to slap myself silly to remind myself I didn't need the chip.

Hope you have good LOUD cooling to go along with that mobile. Good thing hearing decreases with age. :p

fare warning though do not go over 1.9v unless you got water cooling. also I would just get a NF7-S the Lan party is nice but doesn't offer a whole lot for almost double the price of the NF7-S
and beleave me if your expecting to go over 2.6 your proubly going to be disapointed you either need water cooling and alot of volts or get one of the few processors that will go that high without a voltage crank. I needed the volatage crank to hit it 2.1V which is more than I'm comfortable with so I run at 2.6 @ 2v for daily use. also if your buying new ram now if you must stay at 512mb get as fast as ram as you can afford it helps alot for amds. timings are secondary to FSB speed.

don't go refurb you will most likely not get accessories which thier are some nice ones that come with the board. Rev2 is the best
