Do you think he has to lie to dry cleaners to get them to take it? Like tell them it's a costume for a local theater production of Downfall or something? I can't imagine most dry cleaners would be thrilled about cleaning a Nazi uniform.

Yeah, I've wondered about such things myself. Maybe just say he is part of a WWII re-enactment troupe or something.

Why would you have admiration for that? He's wrong, but at least he has the courage of his convictions... How is that noble? Some of the worst actions in human history have been at the hands of people who had the courage of some really awful convictions. It's not noble, it's stupid, and he shouldn't be praised for making the bold choice to remain stupid.

No, I'm legitimately curious. I mean, you agree that Nazism is wrong, I'm assuming (since most people in this country do). Why is it noble for a Nazi to have the courage of his convictions when you agree that his convictions are wrong, that his convictions might be legitimately harmful? I think it's far nobler to admit that you might be wrong than to stubbornly cling to a position that most people agree is insane.

Not sure about here but I remember reading a story about Argentinians naming their kids after movie characters such as "Batman Hernandez" and "Iron Man Gonzalez" and the state having to step in to stop them LoL.

The story smells like bullshit to me. It sounds like the state is allowing personal feelings dictate policy. I'd like to hear what the state alleges. A brief look didn't turn up any specific allegations.

This is dangerous thinking IMO.

What it seems to me you are saying is "We currently view Nazi speech as "hateful", so naming your children after Nazi type things is considered hateful, and therefore should warrant child abuse." (please correct me if I am wrong). This line of thinking concerns me because I happen to be a Christian. Christianity and the Bible are often seen as "hateful". Could that same line of thinking mean that there could be cause to remove my children from my home because they are named after biblical figures, and because I teach them about Christianity?

It feels like the only difference is in the perspective of the person deciding what type of speech/teaching is OK and what is not.
