I'm looking for some information on a DAA modem. It seems to be somewhat similar to an AMR modem. That is, its just a riser that interfaces to the motherboard. I'm looking to buy one for a friend. His machine came from surplus at a local middle school; eg. built as cheap and minimal as possible. The modem got fried during a recent thunderstorm. Can anyone tell me somewhere good to pick one up and just some general information about it?
Also, is it possible that not only the card, but the part of the modem on the motherboard was fried as well?
