I've been trying to tweak this machine for a while and I have no idea what the problem could be at this point. The only diagnostic I have to go on (the machine's BIOS has been reset to all factory defaults and I am not trying to overclock it) is that when you try to boot, the BIOS normally flashes 2-letter combos in the lower right hand portion of the screen -- it's stuck on the combination "EB."

Anyone know wtf might be going on or any idea how I can fix it? I get no beep codes to let me know there might be any errors with any of the hardware.

Ok, so next update. I tried to recover my BIOS, thinking that was very likely the problem, based on the steps here:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-023360.htm

After apparently doing fine for the first 2-3 minutes the system rebooted (with the floppy still in), the BIOS screen popped up, then came up black. It's been sitting there for several minutes and I'm pretty sure it's failed in whatever it's supposed to be doing.

This is really frustrating as it's a completely new rig, and I don't know which parts I'm going to have to look into replacing to get it back up and running. Jeez. I did do a memtest86 check recently because there were tons of stability issues with overclocking, and the memory had 0 errors running it for ~5 hours.

According to this list (scroll down to the bottom of the page), the error code EB is "Calling Video BIOS". That would seem to indicate that the motherboard is having trouble communicating with the video card in the system.

I swapped video cards and still had the issue. I'm RMA'ing the board and will try the full setup with a P5B-Deluxe now.
