My system has stopped playing 3d games. It crashes with a black screen when I try to run a 3D game. If I try to run full screen tests in DXDiag it also crashes but with a DXDiag.exe title bar at the top of a blank screen.
I have tried updating all the drivers, and reinstalling both windows XP and 2000s. About the only thing I haven't tried is flashing the BIOS, which I'm still a little scared of.
The system a couple of years old, a 1200 Athlon XP and GeForce4 Ti 4200, but I could run these games a couple of months ago fine. About the only thing that's really changed that I can think of, is the fact I have been infected with a couple of viruses and various spyware recently. I think they are under control now though, and the Windows reformat should have helped that problem too.
Any thoughts obviously much appreciated...thanks in advance!
