My D2OL client just auto updated itself. Lets hope that this fixes al the problems we've been having.

**Update** Well it came up with and error when installing the patch but it is now happily going about its next candidate. Lets hope that it worked.

Looks like it was just one of my stupid computers that is a peice of crap to begin with. I need to get around to formating and reinstalling Windows on that box. All my nodes are showing version 01.01.01 and the version for download on the website is version 01.01.00 so there has been an update.

Well, I just got back to the office from one of the branches and found my Athlon 700 sitting there with probably the same error from the update; I re-started the client, it downloaded the patch, and all seems well. I had my machine "locked"(Win2K) while I was gone, so perhaps the program needed to do something that the lock wouldn't allow?

* Yep, 01.01.01 here too - that's it.

All,

We will be releasing a new upgrade for the Windows clients. This will fix some minor problems with all Windows machines and will specifically fix the issues that caused clients to not run on Win95 machines. If your clients do not update themselves automatically in the next couple of days please download the newest installer from the website.

Users of other operating systems do not need to download a new client.

Our main priority is still to correct problems with the candidates and this was a byproduct of that research. After we have corrected the candidate issue we will work on reducing the memory footprint of the client.

well I will refire my win95 work computer tomorrow and see if the upgrade fixes the win95 issue.

I sure hope they fix the stuck candidate issue also, that seems a much bigger issue than the win95 thing...since there are very few people still running win95, but everyone was getting stuck on these crappy candidates

Mine seems to be crunching away fine, we'll see for sure in a day or so.

When my VP6 didn't auto update, I ended the engines and restarted them. One did fine, the other had an error. Hope my herd at work survives this update!
