Quick question folks..
Is the best DVD burner on the market still the NEC 3500A? or has any better ones come out or coming out out?

Check out the review on AT. The 3500a is pretty much the best out there in terms of price/performance.

BTW, like Schadenfroh I have the NEC 2500A/2510A and am very happy with it too.
