D-Link vs D-Link

if you ask me, as an owner of D-Link routers .. they suck, get a linksys.

Di-604 is decent but has a problem with disconnecting me
gf has the DI624, never reaches speeds and constantly disconnect and reconnects. This is after firmware upgrades and disable "SuperG"

Only hardware revision C2 of the DI-624 are worth touching, others are trouble.
C2 is the only one with all the bugs ironed out.

🙂 If you ask me, Linksys sucks, get a Netgear. 🙂

If you are only using your router for wireless internet access, don't bother even worrying about speeds faster than 802.11b, which is 11mbps. Your internet connection probably isn't even faster than 3mbps (that's what I have via Comcast).

I suggest going with the DI-524 for $38. That's a pretty decent price for an 802.11g router. Check dslreports.com for any forum threads concerning that model, just in case.

Of course, thats just your opinion. I had the most trouble with Linksys routers and I personally consider them one of the buggiest brand of routers around. But again, just my opinion.

Can't speak for the wireless end, But my D-Link DI704 has allways worked like a champ.

I have the B2 revision of the DI-624 and it doesn't give me any problems with disconnecting or anything... I used to use a Netgear router that would disconnect 2-3 times a day.

Also, Amazon has a used one for $59 after rebate.... or J&R has a new one I think for $60 plus shipping.

i bet threads like these, with people disagreeing on brands make the OP's head turn,

i'd go with the regular G. people over at DSLREPORTS.com and other places have trouble with that superG stuff.

Get the 624 for $56.94 after rebates at Amazon: D-Link. I am going to buy one of these soon.
