D-Link Router Issues with Wireless

A friend of mine recently got a D-Link DI-634M Router and a D-Link AirPlus DWL-G630 PCMCIA adapter. He says his computers when wired directly to the router all is good. But when he runs his laptop wirelessly, he can get on the internet, but can't access the network.

What can he try to do to get his wireless laptop to see the network?

I haven't dealt with wireless that much, so am not sure where to start! Hope there's a simple answer.
