D-Link, the industry pioneer in networking, continues to offer innovative Ethernet products. The D- Link DP-311U is a wireless print server with one USB port. With its high-speed USB port, the DP-311U allows those on your network to access and share a USB printer wirelessly no matter where they reside on the network.

The DP-311U is equipped with one USB version 1.1 port for seamless connection to most printers available on the market today. The DP-311U also supports all major network Operating Systems and protocols.

The DP-311U is an 802.11b compliant wireless Print Server that supports both infrastructure or Ad-hoc wireless modes. With the DP-311U you have the ability and convenience of sharing a printer beyond the wired network.

The DP-311U is also easily configurable using a Web Browser or Windows based configuration program. Using Web Browsers on a PC connected to the network, configuration is simple and straightforward with the familiar D-Link interface.

PS Admin, a Windows-based configuration program can also be used to configure the DP-311U.

The DP-311U Wireless Print Server is the ideal network printing solution for small offices, home offices, schools and other businesses that require printer sharing.

80% of network hardware that is diagnosed as bad is due to the inability of the user to understand network concepts. D-link is no different than any other brand.

Thanks for the threadcrap anyways.

ive used d-link for a while, they may look like crap, but i've had no issues with it. I had a netgear and kept getting constant loss of connection, no problems at all in over a year with d-link

edit: not this same item, just mean d-link brand

Actually, it wasn't a thread crap, I said thanks for the post moron. As for D-Link, I've had to deal with several D-Link products over the years, and they are not reliable, bad interfaces for setting things up, etc....IN MY EXPERIENCE. I'd prefer to stick with Linksys or Netgear for switches myself, because they seem to be less problematic and generally easier to work with.

I used to support a customer with a D-Link router. EVERY SINGLE setting in the setup menus would reboot the whole router after you set them. I mean simple things like port forwarding, etc...the whole thing would reboot. That is a big pain when you are supporting someone remotely, and have to reconnect after any change, no matter how trivial.

Oh, and smart guy, 94.7% of all stats pulled out of ones a$$ are generally 78.6% unreliable.

Thanks for sharing though!

I've been dealing with D-Link products for the past 6 years... I've never had any router/switch/hub go bad on me - ever.

Yeah, that's great. You have had great experiences with them, I have not...neither of us has used nearly enough of their products to make a factual statement on their quality or performance. I was simply relaying my experience, and I never said they suck, just that I, personally, would pass on the deal. You guys seem a bit sensitive.

Can we let this thread get back on track now?

Anyone else need to proclaim how all the D-Links they have used have been nothing short of amazingly perfect?

I have an HP3300 with built in wireless. It has been nothing but a headache with the lowsy drivers HP wrote for it to use all of its other 'features'. If I were to do it over I'd have a non wifi printer and add one of these.

Interesting how you are such a perfect forum member, you couldn't just post your relevant information without the comments?

Pot, meet kettle...

This is a nice price for a basic wireless print server. One note of caution: it is limited to WEP for security. If you are using WPA, you will have to downgrade the network to use this server.

FWIW, I've found D-Link equiment to be far easier to configure and more reliable in the long run than Linksys.

I'm using one of these. It's not to bad. It's not like it gets an enormous amount of traffic. As long as you stay away from the dlink 624 they make pretty solid stuff. I'm also using the DGL-4300 and it is by far the best consumer router i've ever setup/used. completely blows away the 3 bricked linksys routers and the wireless linksys printserver that got bricked when i updated the legit firmaware.
