This does run smart media, but it has a limit of up to 32MB only. (according to amazon and dlink's site)
>>

i think it runs 64mb also? so your total max mem is 64+32

<< geezus
does outpost know wtf is going on or what
>>

no, i just called and the guy told me that invoice will say april 1st because that's the day it's shipped and charged...

I just called myself. And they said the invoice will be dated the ship date. He know about the rebate for the D-link MP3 player and said it was too late.

<< Called outpost, Winston says they are all Sold Out 🙁 >>

I guess they won't be sold out when we all call and cancel our orders... I really hate Outpost.com sometimes: I'd like to fire them from a cannon through a hole in a wall.

I dont understad the hangup. The rebate asks for a receipt, the UPC and the rebate form. I have a receipt saying March 30th from when I placed the order. So that is before March 31st and what I send in. I dont care what the shipping invcoicesays. The rebate does not ask for it. So just print out your receipt from online purchase, and send it in. Easy.

i agree. Ill take my chances. its 30$

Ok, I have a feeling i'm doing a very newbie type thing here but can someone point out to me how I can get Staples to price match this online? One tajdtj said he called staples and they matched it. None of my local staples' have it, so I want to get it off the web if possible. I'd really apriciate a reply, or just a point in the right direction if this question has already been answered.

actually the rebate has a # on it if you have questions

but they are closed on the weekends maybe i can call early monday before outpost ships my order and find out whats the deal

cancel outpost if i have to

or i might just cancel this order, too much freakin trouble

I bought this player for my wife when Fry's had it for 39.98 plus $30 MIR (=9.98 + tax - thanks to this forum) - she loves it. The built-in 32MB holds between 5-8 songs depending on quality, length, etc. Last week I bought a 64 MB SMC card from Outpost for $20 (plus 7.00 for tax and shipping) - now the player holds about 24 songs at a time (about two hours of music). Overall it works very well, although the last song recorded on the external mem played back scrambled. The unit also has a small microphone if you want to dictate into it. Bottom line: for under $40 TOTAL, we got a decent little player which my wife can take jogging and doesn't skip, and which goes fairly easy on batteries (2 AAA - got 4 rechargeable AAAs and the charger from Fry's for $7). It fits in your pocket and weighs a lot less than a CD player. We are very happy with it, but if you have money to burn, you might look at some of the bigger jukeboxes now available. Otherwise - no real complaints.

FYI, the Staples B&M stores here in NYC have it on clearance for $49.50. You might look into it if you didn't get in on the deal.

Does anyone know:

1. What the expansion card limit (32, 64, 96)?

2. if the Smart Medica card, once used on dmp-110, can be reused/reformated for other devices?

3. Anyway to upgrade/hack the firmware to support WMA format?

I had bought one of these about 6 mos ago, and it was easy to use, but the quality was VERY POOR. The music Skipped, and had all sorts of problems, even at every quality level. I know the mp3's I used should work, because they worked on my home pc. Also this thing ate batteries pretty quickly...
i returned it back then...
But now... since it's going to be free... I went ahead and ordered one... I'll give it a shot.

if you can find one of those anywhere near you for any amount, just buy it and copy the receipt and then later return it, then use that receipt for the MIR.

Doesn't anyone have a receipt from Outpost where they've ordered on a weekend and it shipped on a different day? I find it hard to believe that the receipt would show an order date that's incorrect.
