D-Link DIR 655 Access Point Setup

Hey everyone! On my home network, my primary wireless router is a D-Link DIR 655. I have another one that I would like to make a wireless access point, so I can extend my wireless range to parts of my house that are week.

I have disabled DHCP, and other services on the AP router, and gave the AP router a static IP address. I can access my AP router over the network.

My question is, if I enter my wireless network information in the AP router, will that 1) make the AP router a wireless access point so my wireless range is greater? 2) on the AP router, do I need to have my WPA2 key information entered, or should I leave it out? Thinking here, is that I don't need dual authentication 3) Does the AP need to be plugged into my primary router for it to work? 4) how do I know the AP wireless is working?

Thank you very much.
