D-Link DI-704 or SMC 7004ABR Router?

Hey All,

I just got tboth these routers. I am wondering which is gonna be better? the D-Link is $29.99 and the SMC is $49.95 both after Reabate. I got the SMC cuz i thought it might be nice to have the Print Server option but is that worth $20? I have PacBell DSL and me and my roomate do alot of online gaming...so i guess i wanna know is one gonna be faster and/or easier to setup and configure for gaming? good tech support would be a plus as well!

Thanx

My friend had so much trouble setting up his Calble with the D-Link, he ended up giving it away and just stuck with the built in internet connection sharing in windows.

There is no faster Router, all the Routers are capable to deliver more then your ISP is willing.

D-Link, and SMC are usually the same OEM.

SMC is more popular. $20 is only three Number 1 Lunch in the Arches.

JackMDS,

Actually the D-Link DI-704 is known to be a throughput bottleneck, *until* they fixed that problem in the latest firmware release.

The choice seems pretty simple to me. Since both products are quite affordable, keep the SMC if you need a print server.

I haved used the D-Link, Linksys, and SMC Routers and have found the SMC the better choice with the built in print server. Setup is very easy too.
