Many people will warn you about TigerDirect rebates-I won't repeat the warnings in full, but the short version is expect to be jerked around and delayed, and ultimately count yourself very lucky if you actually recieve your rebate check (or here, checks-prepare to go through hell for each one).

I owned the D-Link DI-624 for a few days, which amounted to many hours of frustration trying to get it to work correctly. Tech support is a phone call to India to someone who will read pdf's or the manual to you, without the slightest bit of actual knowledge of the product. Once I thought I had it working, only to have it crap out again the next day. I took it back to BB, got my money back (way, way less than $115 as I recall), switched to a Linksys router which works flawlessly.

Stay away from this deal, unless it is to reccommend it to someone you have a grudge against.

Cliff Notes:
(1) Tigerdirect rebates=you'll be burned

(2) DI-624=lousy router, poor tech support

The router's pretty crappy. The few I've installed (even after warning people to go with something better) wound up dropping connections constantly.

Spend the extra money and go with a nice Linksys.

rebates from tigerdirect, you're just asking for trouble. I paid $20 for this same router at office depot and it's craptastic. They listed selling price at that time 3 months ago at $70 w/ a bunch of rebates to drop it to $20. This is double that, somebody has their head screwed on backwards

funny thing is my DI-624 works without any problems... wireless coverage is pretty good. Does not cover the whole house but most cheap wireless routers dont.

rebates aren't worth it...but those of u with the router...flash it with the firmware from Taiwan (rev. C i think) and keep the router upright. i've fixed two of these like this. Firmware is solid and there is a heat issue with this model.

As others have said this router has dropping issues! I have got it to work fairly well with the firmware update and standing it upright does seem to help. No way would I risk those rebates though with TD!

What verison on the di-624 do u own? There are 4 versions.

Also, I used to own a Di-624 ver.C Worked fine for about a year...then started rebooting all the time by itself, even when nothing was plugged into it other than the power cord. I spent many attempts with their support to get it replaced....f*king they just wouldn't.

They said to put fimware 2.33 on the box... I did, but problem persisted, so I emailed them saying, "ok, now replace the unit", but they didn't. Instead I got another email saying, "your firmware is too old, install a newer one"...and so on and so on....

So I picked up a Zyxel P-330w for something like $10AR from Cmpusa....hasn't crashed once, range is great (custom antenna), and Wi-Fi speeds are good to.

Don't buy the current crop of Dlink products...lotta people complaining about them.

Don't rely on getting your TD rebates.....assume you might not and ask yourself..."is this a good deal without the rebates?" If it is, go for it...otherwise, go elsewhere.

First off its $115 cause of the crappy internet security suite that comes with it. Second TD blows the fat one and ur rebates will never come. Third the router is a paper weight at best, constantly locks up and u have to unplug the power from it for 5 mins before it will reset and be functional for 10 mins if you're lucky. And finally tech support is a joke. First they told me to hold the reset button for 15 secs. Then they wanted to me update to the newest firmware which I had already done prior to calling them then they told me to go into the routers log and see what IP/port was accessing the router a lot and block that ip/port.

Haha! $85 of the rebates is for the etrust software.... Then another $25 for the router... $15 is a manufacturer rebate, same available at newegg. Why get Dlink I do not know, my Netgear works perfectly with excellent range.

I've had this router for several years with no issues at all, and my bussy also has it and his runs great too. The interface is very easy to use and speed and range is better than most other routers I've used. It works well with any wireless card but works best with the d-link card. Not saying all d-link routers are great b/c I've used some crappy ones too, but this router is just as good as any other router out there around the same price.

I bought this router with a wireless card (package) from buy.com last week. Still waiting on delivery, but it was like $85 for the package, with a $40 rebate direct from D-link. Hopefully it works fine, as my netgear equipment has been flakey lately.

I have the Revision C3 of the DI-624 for about 2 years I would say. Yes I had trouble like everybody describes. Then I upgrade thew firmware. Then I moved and the problems started again. Then I upgraded the firmware and all was good again. Then I got restart problems again so I updated the computer with wireless adapter (Dlink DWL-G520). I had to update to some special drivers (Atheros drivers) and let windows take over the wireless client connection. Please not that if you use Dlink driver for your network adapters you should let the Dlink application manage the connection and not windows.. Now I have one wired connection and two wireless computers (laptop, desktop) running on it with no problems.

When I look at reviews I see people posting problems for every wireless product. I am not saying Dlink is better or equal or worse to other brands. All I want to say is you can make it work since it always worked for me when I updated the firmware/drivers when problems arose.

I had two of these and no problems. But when my wife got a new Sony SZ laptop, the wireless reception two rooms away sucked. Even though it was fine with the old Averatec at 1/3 the price of the Sony. Got a new D-link DI-634M and it really boosted the wireless performance.

But this deal sounds like a scam to me. Tax on $115.00 in CA is as much as $9.77. And any shipping? You can buy it outright for about the same without screwing with the rebates.

Or check out the Airlink AR525 here!
http://www.tomsnetworking.com/lans_routers/charts/index.html?chart=119

Often only $30.00 at Fry's or Outpost. Blows the 624 away bigtime. Just got one e few days ago but have not set it up yet.

For all the posts that Arkitech has on this forum I would think he would know better than to call this a hot deal. I read much more than I write, so something has to be really good or really bad for me to comment.

I think I am not supposed to say this, sorry Akitech, but this deal sucks!

Sorry but I couldn't see the Airlink525 in your link. Did you mean this MIMO router Airlink 525
A co-worker bought this Airlink to help with his range over his D-Link 624. The Airlink 525 MIMO was worse so he went back to his D-Link 624.

I had this router before and it really bad. After putting a password on it for my home pcs to connect they could never connect. i had to reset it even after disabling the password. It does work for hard connections tho
