D-Link 704P router $29.99 after$40 instant & $30MIR

OfficeMax has the D-Link 704P router with print server for $59.99 in store price. When I checked out, the csr told me there was a mail-in rebate. Looked in the OM mail-in rebate directory (available at checkstand) and sure as Sh*t $30 more bucks off in MIR! =$29.99. Also used an Office Depot scratch off coupon ($15 off $75) to knock $15 more off my total purchase. Black slim case cd 100pk $9.99; and D-Link DFE-530TX+ nic $4.99. These are all hot, hot IN-Store prices. Please don't crap on me, I didn't see this posted after I did a search. cheers 😎 Don't see it online, but it was in their weekly flyer, so maybe only BM?

how would one go about getting that coupon 🙂

It seems like some OM's will honor their competitor's instore coupons, like Staples and OD, etc. One by my house wont, but the one that is a little further away said they would. There's more information in the Cendyne CDRW drive http://forums2.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=40&threadid=813026 regarding the coupons.

I'm headed to OM tomorrow w/ the Staples coupon to pick up the CDRW and one of these routers.

Yes, the OD coupons were being handed out at the checkstand. Although they were attatched to some kind of drawing, I believe they said no purchase necessary. All of the major "office type" stores in my area will accept competitors coupons, Best Buy being the exception. If you need coupons check the websites, FW etc.😀

Thanks AMDBOY! I picked one up along with a nice free (AR) heavy-duty extension cord and a $2 (AR) 50 pack of Imation 32X CDRs. No $15 coupon though.

I checked my local one, and they were out of the router and the drives. Going to check back tomorrow. They said they got a shipment today that would be on the shelves tomorrow.

for u ppl in NJ.... the woodbridge store has the router in stock (at least they had some this afternoon). i didn't need it, but i was really tempted 😛 i did pick up a 32x lite-on for $85 (after tax) - $15 staples coupon - $40 mail in rebate = $35 😀 also, i got some 50pk imation 32x cdr's for $13.xx - $11 mail in rebate. i think the piscataway OM also has the 32x lite-on's & plenty of 32x imations. good luck!

Spanky007, Glad you were able to find the coupons. It seems that the Staples coupons are almost always available. I especially like saving money with the lower end ones like $10 off $10 etc. Even if Staples won't take 'em, the competitors will, LOL. Lot's of good routers out there, but this brand has a lifetime warranty that D-Link stands behind. Cheers.😎

Just want to make sure, are you saying DLink has lifetime warranty?? How come it says 1-year warranty on DI604 box??

cooky, Yes the warranty is lifetime(limited) here's what all that fine print crap says: ......D-Link provides this 1 yr. WARRANTY for its product only to the person or entity who originally purchased the the product from: --D-Link or its authorized reseller or distributor. --products purchased within the 50 U.S., the District of Columbia, US possessions or protectorates, US Military installations, adresses with an APO or FPO. LIMITED LIFETIME HARDWARE WARRANTY: D-Link warrants that the hardware portion of the D-Link products described below ("hardware") will be free from material defects in workmanship and materials from the date of original retail purchase of the Hardware, for the period set below applicable to the product type("Warranty Period"). LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY for the Product(s) is defined as follows: --Hardware. --Power Supplies and Fans One(1) Year. --Spare parts and spare kits Ninety(90) days. D-Link's sole obligation shall be to repair or replace the defective Hardware at no charge to the original owner. Blahh, Blahh, Blahh....... Mumbo jumbo, legalese etc. ....... If it doesn't work due to a material defect, they'll repair/replace it. If you break it, you cook it, you drop it really hard, ymmv. I also have a DI-704 w/o the print server and the warranty basically just says it's lifetime. BUT,........ on either , you have to register the warranty card within 90 days of purchase. Enough on warranties! And to GynE: the item # (I guess) is this really tiny # just below the pic & print of the router in the ad:2016-4153. Must be BM only, cause ad says:Reg. $99.99 MAX means MORE...Save $40=$59.99. Then at checkout clerk pointed out there is a $30 MIR. Sweet! Those extra coupons come in handy too. Good luck. This was in So Cal. Sunday Paper ads. 😎

Anyone know how good these are? Is it worth getting the SMC Barricade for 10 bucks more after rebate?

They are really good and definitely better than the SMC. I got it for $30 from Bestbuy a few month ago and it works great.

Hey thanks for the reply. I have one saved for me at my local store 🙂 gonna go pick it up in a bit.

damnit. Guy said he was mistaken, and they didn't have any in stock.:disgust: They're gonna try and find one then call me. Kinda sucked that I had to drive all the way over there and they didn't really have one. Oh well, I'll wait and see if they locate one for me.

Got it today. Called me a few hours ago, and I went on my dinner break from work. Picked up the Cendyne 32x burner, which was a Liteon in disguise, too. I'm itching to get off work at 1 and go install stuff.

dude, check the model # of ur lite-on. if it ends with the letter "W"... it is firmware upgradable to a 48x cdrw :Q
i got the lowly "S" model 🙁

Ok, first I got the Dlink DI-604 router from Best Buy - pure junk. It networked fine, but refused to open up ports for me. After numerous emails with D-link - very good email response, usually same day, within an hour or so, I still could not get ports released, or reset the modem to factory defaults. Best Buy took it back with no hassles, so I got the 704P at OM and its much much better. I can config ports like a dream. I think the 604 may be a newer model, and the software not yet debugged? I know the 704P has been out for a bit. I highly recommend it! Dump the 604, and get this instead!

Within an hour :Q !!?? They didn't responde to my email until the next day; I guess it depends on the time of a day then.
I also bought a DI604 from BB and returned it because one thing bothers is that DLink doens't have their own tech support but use outsourcing instead (PriorityOne). I decided to go w/ Siemens' 4-port speedstream router.

got one at La Habra , CA ... don't know how many are left..

i believe 704p is rebaggged SMC 7004BR .. setup seems very similar.. but ip address is same as 7004ABR

good deal!
