Well, as being a complete n00b at D2OL, I just installed the client on my Powerbook G4 which was doing nothing..
But I don't know how much it produces en how fast it is.. The client downloaded 50 candidates in the queue and completed
about 12 candidates in the past errr... 8 hrs.. It send in 5, which are also shown in the stats on the site. But it doesn't say anything
about time spent on any conformer or candidate.. So as of yet, I don't have a steady production...
I'd love to joine the race but I don't know if I can.
Or maybe I should ad a node which does give me a stable production 😉
Don't know anything about Macs, but 12 cands in 8 hours sounds a bit slow.
An example, an Athlon XP 1900 can do about between 70 to 100 candidates per day, depending on what size the candidates are.
If the candidate has a small number of rotatable bonds (torsions) and atoms it will complete a lot quicker than one with higher numbers of bonds and atoms (obviously 🙂 ). And it's pot luck as to what candidates you download.
70-100 candidates per day? I have an XP 1700+ Palomino and an XP 1600+ Palomino which only output 21 and 27 per day, respectively, according to the D²OL website. Am I doing anything wrong?
Don't know, but my 1900 is on it's 84th candidate as I type
😕 and it's a Palomino with 256 meg pc 2700 ram and Windows XP Home.
That's an average result.
Have you tried running DSpy with logging enabled ?
I'm not too fond of the way D²OL report their stats!
