I think this is an act!

Obviously Winston, err... Hayabusa, was throttled by my logic and had an epiphany of sorts. So now he must "leave" only to secretly return later with a new name and a more sensible perspective ;)

Seriously though, I don't see myself leaving voluntarily anytime soon, unless I just don't have the time. The reason being, of course, is that I have low expectations. We're just a bunch of tech goobers who think we have all the answers.

Well, it is a little community of sorts. You do wonder where people have gone when they don't post for a while. I do, anywayz.

Then again, posting reasons why they are leaving might spark some reflection among P&N members, leading to some positive changes, you never know :)

I do too. Hence all of the 'Dear John' letters:

Dear Anandtech P&N'ers

I love you, I'm just not in love with you.

Best Regards,

Lately I have been irritated by the lack of critical thinking. Content is seriously lacking, and it's time to go if not forever, then for a while.

Adios!
Sorry to see you go; but I completely understand. Best wishes.

Hay, you are a superbly fine human being full of richness and depth of feeling. Your leaving is our loss. May the beauty of heaven fall on you.

Only took 3 posts for someone to politicize a good-bye post. Unsuprising it was the forums eminent partisan hack "BBond" :D 7 posts for someone to call him on it, 2 more posts later for you to skip past the first one cause it was someone you agree with generally, 2 more posts for Captn to call republicans the core of all evil, then about 8 posts later he decries the tactics he just used as exlusive to the GOP, well you get the idea (and kudos to Stunt for calling his self-righteous ass on it). That's why this forum sucks, I agree :)

/contributes to the "why this forum sucks dogpile"

Will miss ya Winston, even if you don't appreciate the younger folk you old bastard :D

PS: Why must we post a Dear John? Because we know that if we quit, and return, we'll be mocked for a while...

And it took you to count it all up.

If you're discouraged with the tenor of the forum could I perhaps convince you to leave as well?

I'm assuming the racist cesspool known as the ATOT will be the haven you wankers retreat too, eh?

GOP sponsered tactic of shout-down your opposition, deflect the conversation, and bury everone in bullshit.
This comes from both sides of the fence, don't go after the GOP exclusively.
Sorry but you are yet another example of trying to get your last few jabs in...
Really quite sad.
Absolutely true. ime, I see it coming LESS from the GOP side than their opposition in here. They seem oblivious to that fact though.

I'm backing out of this place as well, primarily because it's just a rehash day after day by the same tiring people of the same tiresome subjects...rinse and repeat, over and over, like a broken record. Maybe they'll be happy once everyone who doesn't hold their POV leaves and they're left in their own C-J club. That seems to be their goal.

Laterz...

Again do you wish to join the ATOT? A bunch of sad f!ckers who post a large amount of racist garbage on an Indian website? If you do... good riddance...

Honestly I think the OP is just totally full of himself. Most people here need to get out and see the world a bit.

No sorry I find ATOT terribly boring, with the exception of the occassional h0t chix0r thread. Probably retreat to what I originaly came to this site for - technology. Not to chat it up with the ever increasing number of self-righteous know-it-all leftist dipshits with cute marxist names, who apparently joined this forum in the reverse order with the goal to suppress dissent and turn it into the next DU. Who woulda thunk AT would attract people to discuss politics?

I left months ago - does that count? I guess I needed to post a "Goodbye Cruel World!" thread, but I was always one to sneak out of a roomful of friends rather than saying goodnight . . .

Actually, I don't quite understand the need some have to make their departure a big drama. I remember when you left Don, and I didn't need a thread to tell me why.

It seems rather silly to throw a hissy and say "I'm taking my ball and going home", especially when when the hissy-thrower comes back.

That it.. I'm out..

Well deserved :cookie: for ya on your way out.

I'm sure you'll be back to squawk the Republican line as we approach mid-terms.

Well, I guess I will join the procession to the exit. I may drop a line when I'm in your 'hood, Winston.

For the rest of you, best wishes . . . even to the uninformed and ill informed.
