This is an amazingly inflammatory and pointless article. In addition to being, in all probability, the fittest man alive, Lance Armstrong has shown tactical brilliance on countless occasions, and arguably has the best work ethic of any athlete. Cycling has a lot more strategic and tactical nuance than casual observers realize, and Lance is one of the best.

Jzero argues the point very effectively: any sport (hell, any activity) can be trivialized through oversimplification. All Borges has really shown is that he does not understand, or have an interest in cycling. BFD.

I sent him a curt note addressing each of his "qualifications" for a great athlete with regard to pro cycling. I also took time to point out that at least cycling doesn't have a pre-determined outcome like boxing does. 😉
