I ordered at the end of March and got my site hosted after 10 days (which was the time posted on their website). I got the cheapest plan for $3.90. My site's been up and running for a week now, with no problems. I know they've been getting hammered with new signups. I can't see how they are making money either, but what the heck, its $4. Its better than throwing away $$$ to keep my domain parked for no reason.

GOOD NEWS....Got both my set up messages today. Ordered 4/3, so it was 12 days including weekends. Not bad considering how they must have been hit with orders.

<< Hrmm...signed up april 3rd and still haven't gotten my confirmation. >>

Well that's weird - about an hour after I posted the above, I got my confirmation email.

I signed up on the 2nd, and got my email a few days ago! Everything seems great. The slowest part of the process is waiting for DNS changes to propogate. I like the interface of their PLESK system, too. Looks like fun. Oh, and there's password protected directories!

Yeah!

😀

Ordered 4/3/02 and got my setup account today. Just waiting for godaddy to finish with my dns config. I messed up on my registration by typing in .com insted of .net. But told them about it and they fixed it in a couple of hours. Awsome tech support, well worht the 3.90 i paid for it alone. Will let you know how the hosting side is.

Does anyone know how to link their service to a dot.tk website? I cannot find how to change the DNS servers on my dot.tk web site. Anybody else have this problem?

Yes, they are very slow, and I don't know why people are talking about how great their support is. They won't respond to my emails. I emailed their support@ and orders@ sometime last week and have yet to receieve a response. So I emailed the CEO today and am hoping for a response asap.

signed up on the 4th, got my email on the 13th...

If you have questions go to their irc channel... I talked to the ceo on sunday!

Yup...definitely slow... 🙁

And I recently ordered 2 more accounts with them, but the DNS information they gave me does not work. 🙁 Anyone on the groupns.com DNS addresses? My sites are showing as invalid, after I updated the DNS info. And yes, I waited the mandatory 24 hours. Actually, it's been 72 hours since I updated it the second time. 🙁

I got in on this HOt deal, but having difficulty understanding this stuff because I never had experience with setting up domains, dns, etc. They tell you to set up the new name servers
"Please be sure to change your Primary & Secondary DNS Servers to:

Primary: ns5.groupns.com
Secondary: ns6.groupns.com"

how do I go about doing this? where do I upload the index.htm and other things...?

Im not sure if it works with dot.tk. Im trying to seet it up with them, but i don't know where to enter the DNS information. Does anybody know how?

I don't know what reasons you guys are having for problems. I ordered from them on April 3rd, got my confirmation e-mail right away, and they were ready for me on the 16th. Also, you have to realize two things:

- Like they said on their site, they are now adding more support for the insane amount of applications they've gotten - Anandtech effect and others, likely.
- You've payed under FOUR dollars for an entire year. FOUR DOLLARS. Give me a break. I still don't know how these guys manage to get by the way they do with these prices, but their service has been prompt for me so far, and you can NOT beat the price.

afzan had the right idea. The quickest way to get a response is by going to their IRC channel - that's if you actually HAVE a problem, and aren't just impatient.

Updated the DNS servers at my registrar and the change propogated in less than 24 hours. Site up and running with a fast responding server. Very happy...so what if you have to wait 2 weeks, it is great hosting for less than $4.

You should just go on their IRC or java chat at Chat

<< These clowns are very slow ! Still nouthing and I ordered march 22nd . >>

ROLLTIDE2002:Chat is where you need to be.. you should have had it set up by now.. talk to the people there... they will set you up immedietly if there is a tech there.

I am regular on the chat channel also so if you see me there let me know that I sent you there and I'll put in a word with the techs for you.

remember be polite and you will get your stuff done. I have 3 sites with them and have had no problems.
