I made a small post on reddit about my performance and people jump and tell you that this game is not for ps4 and old gen consoles or cards like mine lol.

Forgetting that this game was announced a long time before any of these new items were available and should have been optimized better. It was suppose to be out in April so it's so odd that the old gen consoles run like garbage.

I need to update my drivers from Nvidia and try again tonight. I'd love to enjoy the game but I may just end up putting it aside for now. It for sure is a fun title worth playing if you don't mind the bugs and can actually run it properly.

Honestly don’t think you would be getting 4K anyway so it’s no big deal. I’m sure the series x is dynamic.

Both series x and ps4 have quality mode which is 4k or performance which scales the resolution for 60fps. Quality I think is 4k 30 on series x. But will wait and see what reviews say.

I have a 4K monitor so playing on my 1080ti is just an experience in pain for me. Ouch.

I updated my driver's finally from Nvidia for my 1080ti. At high settings like last night I'm still getting 30-35fps. So not a lot of change.

Medium I get max 40-50fps. But it doesn't look as good of course and low settings gets me above 50fps but looks not pleasing lol.

plus, games like this...I end up getting baked a wee bit too much and staring at colors. TBH, will be maybe 2 months before I finish a playthrough at my rate, lol.

Maybe you should start a YouTube gaming channel and get a million subscribers. Then AMD and Nvidia will send you free samples of their top end cards to review

It's pretty much the only way that you'll get one by launch day!

Ouch. They said it was like playing a Switch port of a game.

Imagine what it's like on the One. Would you get single digit frame rates? They were getting mid teens on the base PS4. I had a theory that it failed cert on XBox which is what caused the second delay.

The fact that they hard coded keys like F and you can't remap them is driving me nut! Specially since I don't use WASD and use arrow keys for movement.

What?! ... is this true? I use ESDF for movement. Did they not include full key remapping in a 2020 PC game...wtf! No buy for me until they fix this.

well you can choose between cut/uncut and micro/horse cock filters during your character selection screen, and uh, slightly more limited but certainly comparable genital options if you go with the femme V.

but I'm only 6 hours in, so what do I know?

According to that Guru3d test it seems finally there's a game with enough heavy features that the 3090 actually gets to perform closer to 19% better than the 3080 like its actual specs should indicate.

I turned down screen space reflections to medium and volumetric fog resolution to low and I can get 38-40 fps at 1440p in the early parts of night city. Still drops wildly though.

Seems like any other settings I drop don't do anything for fps. It's a very DLSS focused game and any card that can't use that is gonna suffer.

I should also disable chromatic abrasion too. Film grain and motion blur is off but objects still kind of look blurry up close.

Not really sure what to turn down.

What do you have set for crowd density and distant shadows? Also, are you on those drivers that got released on the 9th...? I've heard a few people saying it made things slightly worse for them. Can't remember if they were GTX or RTX users, though.

I read somewhere the cascading shadows settings were big performance hitters. I turned those down. I turned up level of details to high and ambient occlusion to high and I did the prologue in the low 40's with some dips as low as 38. But I'm at 1080p with an inferior card. Now I just started the game post prologue it seems to be running a bit faster just walking around town. Looks real good though. Definitely good enough to enjoy. Gonna start some missions now.

The game teases sex basically everywhere you look but so far I haven't seen any actual sex. Some nudity though.

So far I am not sure what to think of this game. Having a hard time following the story and getting my bearings. Half the time I can't really understand what's going on with all the slang and jargon they use in dialogs, and the other half I lose focus and get distracted by all the details and things going on in the background.

Tried wandering off and exploring the town a bit, but I just ended up getting killed. Once because I was watching some cops work a crime scene and I guess I got to close because they just started shooting. Second time I must have run into a gang or something. Same thing happened.

I think those are set to high but I'll have to double check. I did get the drivers from dec 9th. I thought those would help performance but I tested it out before I started changing settings and I didn't see any increase in frames.

Yea the perf review linked a few posts back mentions the cascading shadows should give about 10-15% boost in fps if lowered to medium or low. I played with these from ultra down to low and didn't notice any change other than performance got worse going to ultra but not improving if moving these down..which was weird and contradictory to the review.
