note, not a pure sine wave model, so may or may not work if you have an active PFC power supply.

How do you find out what type of power supply you have? Are most of the new ones PFC?

Yes most decent new ones are Active PFC. I have a non-sine APC and my power supply made a very loud buzzing noise as it was correcting the waveform. I always shut my PC down after I save my work since I think it can damage the power supply if it is run for a long time like that.

usually if you have an input voltage switch on the back, it's passive pfc, and if you don't (psu accepts 120-240) it is active PFC.

Once in a blue moon the pure sine wave version (CP1500PFCLCD) can be had for the same price. I have the 1000VA model and it's terrific.
