Cyber Acoustics 4.1 speakers for $9.99 AR

Well here goes my first post.

This week both CC and OMax has these speakers for $29.99 in their ad this week. CC's price requires a $20 rebate and OM doesn't. So you can get CC to match OM @ $29.99 and use their rebate to get it down to $9.99 final. I get so many good deals here (BB black friday, TDK 24X CD-RW....) its nice to finally give one back. Hope there isn't a thread for this yet. 🙂
 
Will not work! OM website syas that they have instatnt rebate of $20 and CC policy says that the item should not have any rebate for price matching.

I just did it this morning as soon as I thought of it. Omax doesn't say that it has an instant rebate on the speakers if I remember.
 
Just add the I/O Magic 4 channel PCI 600 sound card on sell for at CompUSA $9.99 AR and you might have something interesting here.

What did you show the CC people to get them to pricematch. I wanna try to get these speakers. But the only info I have on them, from the OM website, says "Instant Rebate". My first attempt at CC didnt work, cause they saw that, and said they cant PM any rebate items.

Use the following link to get to the officemax sale paper page for this item. It doesn't say anthing about instant rebate, just that they are on sale for $29.99. Print this out and use it for PM at CC.

These speakers are a real P.O.S. I hooked them up thru my SB Live Platinum 5.1 and they sound TERRIBLE. All of the sound comes thru the sub-woofer. Tinny, scratchy, light sound out of the satellite speakers. I took them right back. I should have known better in the first place.

I know they might not be very good, but I dont expect much for $9.99 in the end...

 
yea these sound really poor and are not worth 10.00 unless you cannot afford to spend the 20.00-30.00 for something better. that sats on these are poor quality but the sub is a stright joke!

I pricematched in the store. I just took the OM sales paper to CC and they gave me the 29.99 price and the rebate form.
 
I was able to get these from CC for $29.99 after PM. I took the printout of the page I have linked above with me and showed it to the CSR. He was confused (as if I expected any less) and called a manager, then went to talk to the manager, and finally came back and said they would PM but that they would void the rebate reciept. This is not a problem as the rebate is on the CC webpage, so I just headed over there and printed that out.

However, I would have to agree, these speakers are not very good at all. There is little to no midrange and the volume of the rear channel is too low, also they really don't have much volume. I would not recommend them, if it was $9.99 off the shelf, maybe, but not with the trouble of a rebate. Thanks for the original post though! It would have been a great deal if the speakers were better.

Finally set these up. I already had a decent sub-woofer set, and connected this one up at the same time. Not too bad for 9 bucks. I dont have a SB Live family, only a SB 128 with front/rear channels. So these fit the cheap bill perfect.
