I finally got around to wiping out touchwiz on my galaxy tab s 10.5 and putting on cyanogenmod. Overall the tablet is more responsive and less irritating to use compared to touchwiz, which made it feel sluggish.

The only issues so far is that hardware video acceleration doesn't appear to work all that well, or at least it takes a while to initialize for mxplayer. More worrisome is battery life is really bad right now. I just saw it drop from 12% to 8% within a span of ten minutes.

Looking at the cyanogenmod website, it is only showing the nightly builds and not any official release builds. Any advice?

Use cpuspy to see if the tablet is going to deep sleep when its off, if its not use wakelock detector to see what's causing it to not goto sleep.
CM on exynos is never going to run right.

I can't speak to CM but COS on my OPO is very battery friendly. I'm on the latest build (12-1-YOG7DAS2K1) for 4 days now and things have stabilized since the wipe/flash. The battery lasts me all day long.
