hahaha i love CM...he's awesome. Tmo and HTC suck balls for trying to cover it up though

I doubt it.

Tmobile is the most hacker friedly company out there. I wouldn't doubt that they did this to test the waters in case they did try something in the future. Every tech blog I read had nothing but bad words for Tmobile and HTC about this. A few even flat out told people not to buy this phone because of it.

Because Joe Smith reads tech reviews before buying a phone. :p Most people who want a phone just walk into a T Mobile store, handle a few, and go with the phone they like after a 30 second test.

My theory is that people new to the smart phone game ask their "expert" family member or friend. A lot of the time that person knows very little but does read tech blogs or follows some of them on Twitter. One bad write up can be very bad for a phone model.
