50 apps?!?!

Check and see how many of those run in the background. I've found a ton of them that have no business running all the time. Most of the time there is an option in the settings.

Go to settings, applications, running services and take a look at what all is running. Most of the time its one or two apps that are bogging you down. With 50+...well....dude!

ATK shows only itself and SwiftKey currently running. Anywhere else I should look? I don't run many "service" apps or widgets that require connections (No data plan, so Wifi only anyhow).

most of those are probably in the "inactive" state, which means they are simply sitting in ram, not consuming or doing anything. it's the one or two that are poorly coded and not inactive that are causing all the trouble. I have 80 apps installed right now with no problems. systempanel is a good app that lets you see per-app cpu usage
