Yeah so I moved 5 miles away a few months ago and used to pay about $87 a month for DVR, HD Channels, an d 6mb cable internet.

I love how Comcast runs those commercials about how easy it is to move when you have their service. I guess it just wasnt the case for me.

First, they bill me for the equipment I moved to my new house. $700!!!!

Then they credited it back to me and billed me $250 for a month of service at my house.

After arguing over the phone with them they would not budge on the bill and said it was for a transfer of service, as well as tech visit to hook up the line at my new home.

I stupidly pay it and wait for the next months bill. It comes and its $175!

I call again and they say its for part of last month and all of next month. They adjust my bill a bit and say it will call be fixed by the time I get my next bill.

Next bill comes, its $155 for one month.

At this point, I'm pissed. I call to cancel, they say my package does not exist that I had at my old house and couldnt get it as low as it was before so I cancelled and went with WOW!.

No FiOS here so I'm stuck with WOW! internet, but I bought a TiVOHD and will be using their cablecards in it. $79 including tax, no introductory rate, HD channels, 8mb internet. TiVO will pay itsself off after 3 years. I'm excited now.

Compound that with Netflix being streamed to TiVo soon and Netflix HD to my XBOX360 soon, and we have WINNAR!

Wow...Comcast didn't nearly try to fuck me over like that when we moved to our new house. I think I paid a $50 or $70 one time transfer+hookup fee, and everything else stayed the same. That said, I'm really not a fan of the current offerings by either Comcast or Qwest+DirecTV...so I stuck with Comcast out of convenience.

...if ever a cheaper or better (value for the $$$) alternative came around, I'd snatch it up.

Yeah I told them I was moving and they said just take my equipment to the new home and give them the date of the move, which I did.

At my old place, I was paying comcast $125 a month for cable and internet service. When I went to move, they insisted that they had to charge me something like $50 in fees to move my service. I switched my internet service to DSL and cut my cable back to $50 a month as a protest. Over the last year, comcast would have made an additional $900 from me if they would have just let their $50 transfer fee slide.

Comcast is the WORST. Unfortunately, I'm stuck using them.

I turned off Comcast TV two years ago and switched back to DTV (never should have left DirecTV).

For seven months I had them charging me $150 a month until my bill was over $1000 for cable that I was not even getting. Each month I called in and told them "I turned this off X month and they continue to bill me". Then they would say "oh we're sorry, I just turned it off and we'll send someone out to your house while you're not there to turn it off at the pole". This went on for freaking 7 months. None of the CS people could figure out why my account was cancelled, then turned on again each month! They said something in my account was triggering a reconnect after the disconnect, but they had no clue why.

The problem was I have my internet with them also and it got to the point that they were turning my internet off and I'd have to call in and have it reconnected and explain time and time again what was going on and then they'd try to charge me a reconnect fee on the internet part, when it was their mistake to begin with!!!

It was a huge mess.....worst CS ever.
