CUV4X sometimes doesn't like my system speed

I'm running a 700MHz Pentium 3 (not overclocked) on an ASUS CUV4X, with generic 133MHz SDRAM (but with the bus running at 100MHz). I'm using BIOS version 1006.

Mostly, everything works fine. But occasionally, when I boot, the ASUS goes into the BIOS, saying that my system had a problem when it was on before, and that it sets the CPU speed to a safe speed (700MHz :)). I say okay, exit the BIOS, and everything works fine. Thing is, I shut my computer normally before (using the power off key, that shuts Win2K in an orderly manner).

What gives?

Yeah mine does the same thing, especially if your computer doesn't shut down right, it is just a precaution.
