I'm running a 700MHz Pentium 3 (not overclocked) on an ASUS CUV4X, with generic 133MHz SDRAM (but with the bus running at 100MHz). I'm using BIOS version 1006.
Mostly, everything works fine. But occasionally, when I boot, the ASUS goes into the BIOS, saying that my system had a problem when it was on before, and that it sets the CPU speed to a safe speed (700MHz
). I say okay, exit the BIOS, and everything works fine. Thing is, I shut my computer normally before (using the power off key, that shuts Win2K in an orderly manner).
What gives?
