I would assume that "Cuse" is short for "Syracuse NY?"

All that money that Mommy and Daddy spent and you still don't know how to spell or how to correctly pronounce proper names? Sad.

Did you ever stop to think that possibly, not the entire world knows what "Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse!" is? Perhaps, by chance, not everyone here is of ignorant college-age, but maybe not even into worthless college sports?

Cuse. Is that short for:

Excuse
John Cusak
Accuse
Excuse me
Excuse you
Excuses
No excuses
Et al...............

I'm just being a turd...you college people are a source of endless amusement for me. :)

Eh, that was a whole lotta hype by the media because of that spanking we laid upon Oklahoma with the zone. I've seen every SU game all season (season ticket holder) and Texas isn't exactly the first team to beat the zone - there are a few teams that have managed to play ball with the 'Cuse. However, SU's offense was clearly too potent for Texas. :D

Anyway, experience has been losing to talent, confidence, and cohesiveness. The Orangemen have been hot all season and have always had 2 freshman, 2 sophomores, and 1 senior as the starting line up!

GO 'CUSE kick some Kansas ass! If (when) SU beats Kansas they really should get not only the National Championship trophy but also the Big 12 Conference Tournament trophy! :Q :D

Haha, go Big Red! I'll be there next year! On a related note, a quote from tonight after the game:

"We try to approach every game the same, whether it's Cornell or Monday night,'' Boeheim said. "The players will obviously be a little more ready than they might be for Cornell, but I'll be the same.''

Jimmy, disrespecting the Bear? Ya know what, I'm gonna let it go...

are you kidding me? in case you hadn't noticed, kansas has the best player in the country on their team. you should take a look at their starting line up too, before you go saying how great SU is because of the diversity. don't think monday's game is going to be a walk in the park. granted, it won't be easy for kansas, either. but this is their year.

Eh, when did I say SU is great because of diversity? I mean, it's true, but that's not what I was saying. Oh, and by the way, SU has the best player in the country - you saw what he did to your Longhorns. What's more, he's been doing that to teams all year long - no one has found an answer for him and he can completely take over a game.

Anyway, Kansas is a great basketball team - Monday's game will not be a walk in the park for either team, but rather an all out track meet for both. Expect lots of points and a fun game to watch. I stand by my Orangemen though - I think they can and will win it!

Mike Sweetney lit SU up for 38 points in one game during the regular season and SU still won. As long as it's only 1 guy hurting the zone, it doesn't really matter. Look at Texas. Mouton was the only one that did much damage and everyone else was pretty much kept in check. The zone is nasty. IMO, Syracuse has a slight edge (on paper) going into the national championship as Kansas only has 2 days to prepare for the zone.

And another thing, how about the lack of respect for this team and it's players. They were underrated all year and even after knocking off Pitt, ND, Missouri, etc, they were still underdogs in a lot of games. Also, I think that right now, without a doubt, it has been proven that Carmelo Anthony is the best player in the nation, not TJ Ford. No team has been able to control Anthony yet this season, and hopefully Kansas won't be able to either. Go Orange!

I plan to be celebrating a national championship on Marshall Street on Monday night. That is all. Go Cuse!

actually there were a couple people that broke through the zone. texas was hurt with fouls (both deserved and undeserved) and thomas missing his free throws.

you can say what you want, but texas was overlooked all season just as much if not more than syracuse. no one had them near the final four and they made it. and you can see the other thread about TJ ford, the BEST player in the country.

now then, i'll stop. enjoy your victory. it was well-earned.

I'll concede that Texas got through the zone a bit, but all I heard this week was how TJ Ford and Texas were going to tear it apart and it just didn't happen. Yea, the zone bent, but it never completely broke. I'll agree with you that Texas was overlooked a bit, and IMO, that's because they were in the Big 12 with so many other great teams. But as far as the TJ Ford/Carmelo Anthony debate, we'll just have to agree to disagree :p It was definitely a great game and I hope they can meet up again next year.

MikeyD, I knew when I posted, the 'Cuse fans would know what I was talking about. Sorry to leave you guessing. You won't find a more die hard 'Cuse fan than here so even though I already graduated from college, college sports still go on! Syracuse is my hometown. I've been going to syracuse games since I was 5 :)

How you can call college sports worthless is beyond me but I guess whatever floats your boat. Talking from experience, trying to balance the academic rigors of engineering while taking on the rigors playing college sports which is a year round committment, taught me time management and how to work hard. I'm a better person now for it.

One more game 'cuse!!! (as in syracuse as in the syracuse in the state of new york ;)) Win or lose, it's been one heck of a season to watch. I hope Jimmy B can get his eluded championship

How about this lack of respect for Syracuse. I get up this morning, go to ESPN.com and they're saying that the tournament is over and that KU is too good not to win. Last I checked, they lost some games. Yes, they are an exceptionally good team, but they are not unbeatable. I would love for the 'Cuse to put up a W tomorrow night and show up the "experts" one last time this season as they come home to Syracuse as national champions. I'll see you Syracuse OTers in the Carrier Dome for the game on Monday. Go Orange!

I have a hard time giving Syracuse any respect. They almost lost to Auburn, a team that didn't even belong in the tournament. Granted, Auburn stepped their game up in the tournament, but I still agree with anyone that says that they had no business being there. Kansas will win, and Roy Williams will be the new UNC coach.

oh man, I hope you are joking? I just have to laugh when I hear comments like this. they are rather pathetic. you are judging a team's ability because they almost lost to Auburn? one lousy game? If you happened to watch the game, 'Cuse was up double digits for most of the game and Auburn hit a few 30 foot prayers that actually went in to make the score closer.

Ask Texas, Oklahoma, Pitt, Notre Dame, Ok St, Missouri, Michigan St, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall, and BC among others about Syracuse and get back to me. You can't evaluate a team on one game. Using that theory, Kansas lost to North Carolina and Colorado (one of the last at large teams in the tourney who only got in because of a bone head play by a Kansas State guy and then a 3 at the buzzer). Kansas must be terrible! Why did they make the tournament?

Heck of a season Syracuse!!! hopefully, you guys have one more in ya! It definitely won't be easy. Kansas is on a mission as well.
