Okay I have a Variable speed fan. The fan has a variable speed knob on the end that you use a screw driver to change the speed. Now the knob is kind broken and doesn't work accuratly, I assume the connection or what ever is messed up inside, but I can still get it to work on full blast if I want it to I just have to play with it a bit. My question is if I cut off the thermal control is the fan going to run at full speed or low speed? I am getting a rhebus some time next week so I will be able to control the fan with that. I just don't want my 52CFM fan to all the sudden be stuck at 20CFM if I chopp the annoying control off. THanks for any help!!!

The control is probably a variable resistor so if you cut it off you will be at full speed.

lol same thing happend to me i accedentally disconnected the varible knob thingy so i just soldered up the wires and it goes full speed prolly a tiny bit more as those knobs reduce current by a tad
