cutting case problem with dremel

well, i started to cut my case with a dremel tool and well its not looking so hot. i tryed to cut a design but now i have messed up to much that i now have t cut a sqaure. the edges are bad and what not. any other tool or suggestions. the case is steal.

Try using a jig saw. You can use the dremel to clean up the edges and try to make it even after cutting the square out.

edit: Go slowly. You're supposed to let the saw do the cutting.

there are grinding bits to finish the edges. you didn't have the dremil on fast enough? you push too hard? you shouldn't . aluminum cuts much better anyhow.

whats a design? you weren't trying to cut a blowhole?

Dremels are tough to control. A jigsaw is better to cut with unless you have something to trace for the Dremel.

i have a variable speed dremel. im cutting really slow. actually making an engraving first so i somewhat have a guide to follow.

Are you using an armored HumVee for a case? I had no problems... go slow and cut out your shape then finish edges with grinder bit

Probably be better to have the dremel at full speed for carving stuff and the right bit. You want to let the tool do the work though.

It's hard to control a dremel without using a foot switch and flexshaft for intricate work.
