cutting a small'ish area of grass?

QueBert

I don't own a lawn mower, and even if I did the spots not big enough. I have a weed whacker but it's absolutely shit for trying to cut the grass with. Is there some garden tool I don't know about that would make cutting this easier? My Weed eater is pretty shitty so I think that could be part of the problem too. I don't wanna spend a lot, but I need to figure out the best way to get this fucking grass cut every week.

For a smallish lawn, I'd probably go with a corded electric mower. Those reel mowers are a piece of crap. Cordless electric are no good either.

Actually, a good reel mower will give a much better cut than anything power. Ever wonder why tow-behind reel mowers are used on golf courses and baseball diamonds? Smooth, even cuts.

Reel mowers work great. I mowed an acre with one for a few years. I got tired of pushing it around in the heat and got a riding mower though :^D

Anything 1/2 acre or less I'd definitely use a reel mower. Never runs out of gas, and very little maintenance. My only issue with them is the cost. They're close to a bottom end gas mower in price, with fewer moving parts.

Reel mowers seem to be very sensitive to quality/price, so if you get one, make sure to get a good one.

Also, for the weed whacker, you might try one of those bladed attachments, instead of the usual plastic wire.
