The cat with the white mustace was actually dying when those pics were taken. And we had no clue.

My sister found those two in a cardboard box in a supermarket wagon in the parking lot on a cold and rainy night. She took them home, but her hubby would not let her keep them. So, he brought them here FOR ONE NIGHT until she found them a home. VeggieFrog fell in love with them, so we decided to keep them.

What we did not know, was that the little one (Named Madeleine but called Muppet for obvious reasons) has nursed on some fibers that attached themselves to her intestines and over the course of a week or so. They attached themselves so that they grew into the intestines and blocked everything off. After a few days, she fell over... her eyes rolled back and she started foaming from the mouth. She rushed her to the vet at 10:30PM and he preformed emergency on her, with VeggieFrog's b/f as assistant.

From the later pics... you can see she turned out just fine.

:)

That story makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside

Ha! We got her like that. the first two pics were their first night here. She did not nurse on fibers here. When the vet showed them to us, they were bright orange. we have nothing remotely close.
:)

I have a houseful of cats that have similar storied. Thrown out of car window on a highway. abused and tortured. owner died and left for days. ... missing paws, tails.. etc. You name it, we've had one.

:)

 I didn't even realize the pun that I had written. Wow I'm clever! :D

Actually I just meant that that story made me feel good. It's awesome that there are people out there that take care of neglected animals like that.

Read through all of them. Lillian's and Isabel's stories are the best. Looks like it's a family business. All of your cats look very healthy. You are my hero

Yep
I have always admired how KarenMarie has been able to take them all in. You have to tell mrville what they do when you feed them!

My entry. Sad story, though...the puppy died about a month later, and Jefferson (the most playful, cutest cat you've ever seen) went missing about a week ago today :( I loved that cat.

I don't know if I can contend with this one, though:
