thanks, but i'm not fishing for compliments. my boyfriend asked me what the difference is between a cute guy and a hot guy... i want to hear what your opinions are.

Ah, should ask that on YAGT, that's like a question for other females... and last time I checked, there are more girls there.

Like someone mentioned above, I don't really use the word hot when describing females...I use either cute or fine. I dont have a personal preference as to which I like, and both can apply just as much to attitude as to physical appearance. It's a total package-type thing.

As far as girls and nice guys go: girls aren't stupid (usually), and they do go for nice guys. It's just that the nice guy has to be brave enough to make it known that he is interested in the girl. Guys that don't are classified as "too nice." Also, guys that are nice to the point of making it seem that they've erased their entire personality in order to please the girl they're interested in are, again, "too nice." Think about it: you don't want a drone for a girlfriend, and a girl doesn't want one for a boyfriend. They want you to have your own opinions, goals, etc. in addition to your niceness.
 
I've always thought cute is better for either sex. I definitely prefer a cute girl, I mean the "hot" ones are usually disgusting. "hot" to me means a bitch with bleached hair and characterless face with an ugly smile and no personality. cute means someone who makes me all warm and fuzzy when I rub up against her

Me I'm 30 so I'm Cute that is as best as I can do. I have not been hot since my 20's 🙂

I think you are wrong on this one...at least the part where it means the same for a girl or a guy.

A girl who is cute is definitely more desireable. More of the good looking girl next door kinda thing going on. A cute guy is someone who is necessarily "manly", but might be funny, amusingly immature, boyish, in a Brad Pitt kind of way.

A girl who is hot is thought of as someone who has some incredible physical attributes...almost to the point of being intimidating. Elizabeth Hurley comes to mind. A guy who is hot is someone who usually someone who is a very good physical specimen and has a certain level of confidence/manliness. Hugh Jackman comes to mind.

In other words a guy can be cute to a girl with out him being a "hunk", but I have never heard a girl refer to a guy as hot when he isn't you're typical "hunk".
