Cut Tendon

I cut the tendon in my thumb two weeks ago and had surgery to fix it. So this pretty much has screwed up my hand for the summer if not longer.

Has anyone else ever cut a tendon and how was the recover?

hm tendons... they stitch it together? tendon isn't living cell right? so it would take a long ass time to heal if ever...

Have to wear this splint to keep my thumb from moving for 13 weeks.

It sucks even more as this is on my right hand and im right handed.

I hate to tell you this, but that thumb won't feel "normal" for a couple of years. You will be able to use it before then, probably within 4-6 months, but it will feel strange and ache occasionally.

The physical therapy is pretty painful, they had me on so much morphine at the hospital that I didn't feel a whole lot of pain at the time though.

Not tendon, but I snapped the ligaments in my ankle. It wasn't any better or worse than breaking a bone. Well maybe it was better cause you don't have to worry about it not healing straight (my collar bone has an angle in it now).

hehe a friend of mine, she tore a ligament in her leg, you know those ones just behind your knee?

REALLY painful
