Clippy & hClipboard, you need a Jailbroken phone to use either. hClipboard works amazingly well for me. It even lets you save 10 things on the clipboard. Clippy is also good.

Since I've jailbroke mine this is awesome news. Even if Apple never adds cut+paste there are options now. Both apps are on Cydia, both are still beta but I have yet to have either crash and I've been cutting + pasting my ass off all morning.

And for all the Apple haters who say Apple should have had this as a feature when they launched the original iPhone - sure. But, I overlooked it for the fact I get the closest thing to a real web browser of any mobile device (by far) that's more important to me. Having cut+paste now is good. Though if I had to chose one or the other, I'd take Safari any day of the week.

I pal just told me about Clippy yesterday. What is it about hClipboard that you prefer over Clippy?

like I said Safari > cut + paste any day of the week. Yeah it took awhile for us to get it, but now we have it. And the others who've had it for years still have shitty web browsing ;)

and to Maudib I wouldn't say I like hClipboard better, I do like how you access it. Both are nice apps and welcome add-ons.

it's not base functionality though, I've owned 2 WM phones and neither had cut+paste either. Base functionality on a phone is ummm being able to call people. There's nothing base about cutting + pasting. And we do have it as I just cut and pasted a ton of shit.

So now we have this so called base functionality + the best web browsing. And in a few months we'll have Flash. Don't really see what's not to love here.

WM has cut and paste, and it's only there on the iPhone for the 1% of people who jailbreak. I wouldn't really say that you "have it" yet. That said, the iPhone is still better than any WM phone I've used.

It's only been on WM Pro (touchscreen). Standard didn't have C+P until the latest version, and even then, I believe it was only in IE. About as useful as the javascript-based C+P hacks for non-jailbroken iPhones, which is to say, useless.

You're saying that like WM Pro was somehow a rarer breed than Standard. Standard is far rarer than Pro, for the most part.

Both of my WM phones lacked Cut & Paste, both were from big name companies and probably at the the most popular "smart phone" from each carrier. I know WM phones with C+P exist but I haven't used one, maybe it's just the touch screen ones. I guess C+P on a non touch screen is impossible lol. Mind you there was almost 1 1/2 years between the phones I had (got them when they came out) I understand WM has it now standard but it didn't then.

Bottom line, hack or not we have it now, and there is zero reason to not jailbreak your iPhone, Cydia has the coolest shit. Winterboard alone makes it worth it.

There are 2 versions of WM. Standard and Pro. If there is a feature available on Professional but not Standard, which version has that feature?

ONLY Professional.

I'm not sure where else besides my use of "only" you could interpret that I was implying WM Pro was "rare," but that's what I meant by it (didn't really think that would require any explanation, though).
