A man who was robbing a Citizens Bank near 9 Mile and Van *** roads on Monday was shot by a customer at the bank.

What I find most interesting is how a gun grabber crawled out of the woodwork to post this comment:

A family of six died as a result of a murder-suicide. Authorities believe that a man (gun owner) shot and killed his wife and four children, started his home on fire, and then turned the gun on himself, according to the AP.

The bodies of Scott and Nicole Westerhuis and their children, Kailey, Jaeci, Connor, and Michael were discovered in their burned home last week.

Guns keeping it real....real safe.

wtf? I wonder if that person was paid to post that garbage. Like the gun had anythign to do with that. Like if guns didnt exist, he wouldnt have just drugged them all then burned the house down? Or god knows what. But no! It's the gun's fault. The guy was probably on SSRIs...

You could of had a nice thread about a bank robber getting shot but no. You had to piss up the op with something about gun grabbers.

Aint nobody taking your guns. The right uses that issue to keep you simple people as 1 issue voters.

Right. And we're putting your benefits on your W2 just because. We won't tax them. Promise. Oh, except for that Cadillac benefit plan tax. Did we forget to mention that?

It's ok. Register your gun. It's not a slippery slope. We haven't dumped crisco on it yet.

today i did not kill anyone.

because today i did not have any superpowers which allow me to melt their minds.

but, if i had them .. i probably would have.

your argument is stupid. it's an argument for argument's sake; it doesn't take into consideration at all the nature of people, their impulsiveness, their instinct, and the extreme ease with which gun owners can do more damage than non- gun owners.

pls stop it. it's stupid and i'm sure you are much less stupid than this argument.

When I was in the Scouts I got a merit badge that looked just like that. Easiest badge I ever got. It was for being qualified to get much older people (14 yrs. and above) really pissed off at me without really trying. ;)

As for the OP, firearms provide a much more convenient way to kill others. Much more convenient than getting in-yer-face close and intimately stabbing your family and yerself to death, or strangling your wife and kids one at a time, or hey, getting creative with a pair of pliers on each one of them even.

Point being, without the use of a firearm, I wonder how many murders wouldn't have happened just because the easiest "cleanest" way wasn't as handy and available as they are now.

Just say'in.

Good question. How many people have been killed by machete in the Congo? Or beheaded around the world by various implements?

Murder is function of being an asshole with an axe to grind, and has little to do with the tools at your disposal.

Oh shit... I just realized I described 98% of P&N...

Point taken. However, I think your example of taking us over to the Congo to prove your point is kind'a weak, considering I assumed we were addressing the issue of murders via firearm that occurred right here in the good 'ol gun slinging USofA.

But when I considered your example a bit more, I realized that what you say has merit in the sense that in the Congo, firearms, especially auto fire assault rifles, are the weapons of choice and much more prevalent there and used a whole lot more (without penalty) for its duly intended purpose than here in the US.

The only proviso that I could think of irt the use of the machete over the use of firearms in your scenario is that IMO, those machete are used more for terrorizing the survivors of a hacking spree into submission and obedience and maybe for some other culturally inspired reasons rather than using the much easier method of simply mowing them all down with automatic weapons, which would be employed to simply get rid of all of their perceived (enemies?) in that instance.
