customer bought wrong book from me on half.com, now wants a refund

It sucks he got the wrong book. At least give him the option of refunding it -10%, or let him relist it himself.

While i definetely don't think you should have to return it to him, if he files a chargeback, you could be out the book and the money. I sold two textbooks on there and both times the buyer claimed they never recieved the book and filed a chargeback. I had no luck denying it because I didn't have a tracking number. So unless you have a tracking number, you may want to give a refund....
 
ty for the ideas. i let em know that he'l have to pay for return shipping and a fat restock fee in order to get a full refund. hopefully he'll get the drift and just resell the book.
 
did you sell him one of those "international versions" that are "exactly the same as the US version?"

I got an international version book for my software engineering class last spring and failed an assignment because the review questions were either out of order or had extras.

The auction i bought from on half.com said "exactly the same as US version." I'd have tried to return it too if i had the money to buy the bookstore version last year
