When I changed the radiator configuration and bay res of my system in my sig from RX360 + EX360 and XSPC D5bay res to RX360 + MO RA3-420 (I love this beast!) and XSPC Twin D5 bay res, I had the use of the EX360 rad and XSPC D5 bay res combo.
I had used it to cool my GTX 680 in my FX 8350 rig, but when I sold the GTX 680 the EX360 rad and D5 pump/res went for sale. Since there were no buyers, I decided to buy a cpu water block and custom water cool the FX 8350.
I had previously used a Corsair H100 AIO cooler on it.
I used a EK-Supreme LTX AMD CSQ block. Was the least expensive and actually quite nice. I had to do a work around on the mounting system since the threads for the stud mounts of the new block were different than the threads for the backplate of my motherboard (Asus Sabertooth 990FX rev1).
I had a major leak in the pump system because I improperly installed the O-ring but once those problems were solved the system came together well. I use 1/2"ID; 3/4" OD tubing (old school).
There were challenges with the computer case. I'm using a CM 922 case which doesn't have sufficient room internally to mount a EX360 at the top so I created an external solution. I mounted the rad/fan assembly to the rear externally. XSPC makes a mount system but I improved on that by buying 8 - 2" x 2" flat angle brackets from Lowes. 4 were mounted to the rear of the case through the rear exhaust and four were mounted to the top fan of the 3 fan setup on the EX360. Each set was joined to together by 2 bolt/nut combos. Works great. Gives plenty of room to mount 3 Corsair SP120 fans blowing air through the rad to the rear. The pump is a Swiftech 655-b so plenty of flow. Once the system was leak tested and running for awhile, it has quieted down.
So far temps have been excellent. Ambient temp in the room is 74 F or 23.33 C. At idle the cpu cores are 22 c and stressed with AIDA 64 stability test (licensed version) the core readings after 30 minutes are at 49C max. Not bad for a FX8350 OC'd to 4.6Ghz (23 x200) with a vcore upped to 1.475 for stability.
The Corsair H100 would keep the temps at @60C for the same test but the fans sounded like a jet engine. I'm using 3 Corsair SP120 HP fans on the EX360 but have the voltage regulators attached so they are running at @1200 rpms.
