So there is a real chance of these before Christmas? I was losing hope. Decided on a PS4 instead as my 6970 is actually fine in most games (except BF4 ultra, and it looks fine on High anyway).

If they're not out before Christmas, I can wait until March.

That's $29 for the G10 bracket. You still need a compatible water cooler.
my bad, i posted too quickly and didn't bother fixing it later on.

the bracket is $29, and the radiator (afaik, as the NZXT website says) is also $29. $58 for the lot. tbh seems cheap considering how much a H80 costs, but hey.

The NZXT X40 generally sells for $80+, just like the Corsair H80.

Don't get me wrong, I think the NZXT bracket is a pretty cool and innovative idea. It would be especially useful to someone who has an H80 laying around because they've upgraded their cpu cooler.

It looks like the Asus DirectCU II will be coming out in Mid-January.

This comes from JJ (Asus) himself.

1st off, is that thinner than dual slot??? 2nd, toms said that it will have gold, red and pure black options. I imagine that 3rd parties will make other color stickers, so then it could fit in that nice, clean black and white rig everyone has always wanted. Or neon green. Or uv only. 😀

Mid January..???

Noooooo.

I am gonna miss the boat on the litecoin mining parade.

Plus what am I going to do on my Winter break.??
It is hard to game during the semester.

AMD messed up big here.

Agreed, should have been out by now. Must read the Nvidia G-sync review instead.

Its going to be interesting what prices the aftermarket cards will come in at im guessing close to 780 aftermarket prices(here in the U.K anyways).

Anyone else find the custom GPU blocks a waste? Unless you keep your cards for 3+ years, it's a waste IMO. Much better to get a universal block and use heatsinks to cool the VRAM and VRMs. I've been doing that since a X1800XL many years ago...started with a DD Maze4 GPU block and I'm STILL using it on one of my 7950s.

It isn't a waste if you want to overclock; overclocking is 75% of the benefit of going water. Quietness being the other 25%. Having good VRM temps is critical for maximizing overclocks and maintaining stability at high overclocks, so no, it is absolutely NOT a waste IMO.

With a universal block you're cooling the core but literally saying screw it to everything else. You do not want these VRMs hitting 125C, and that will assuredly happen if you overclock with nothing on the VRMs.

I have 2 of these babies on order.

The pricing is terrible. D:

This pretty much sums up the reason though.

Pleaase note all R9 video cards are highly allocated at the moment. Customers will be placed in a backorder queue and we will ship out orders on a first in first out basis. Thanks for your patience.

Tanslation: Wait for it. It's coming. In the meantime, bend over. :sneaky:
