My fiancee wants to sent these out as "Save The Dates" for our wedding this year.

Quite frankly, I'm a bit shocked by the $3.75/unit cost. The good news is we would only need 75-100 of them, but that's still going to be close to $400 after shipping!

I feel like I should be able to find something similar (or DIY) for around $1/unit + fees, but I don't know where to look.

If anyone knows of a company or website where I can find a good price on something similar to the link above, I appreciate the input as always.

Alternatively, if anyone knows where to get a jigsaw puzzle inlay for a die-cutter, I could maybe order the magnets and do the cutting myself....

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure if you can get that cheaper yourself in 100 qty, but this is a item where no tooling cost is needed. If you were making 1000 I'd say $2 each.

Stick a magnetic sheet with a paper top into a printer and print the stock then take the stock and put it in a 'plotter' type cutter.

Viola!

I would love to have a metal shop, it's one of my 'ideas'...we started getting into custom fabrication and the 'home-grown' shops make some pretty cool things for people. This one shop had one guy making stainless steel appliques for boats and cars, another making custom shaped brake rotors, and more.

I saw one site that sold a slightly smaller one. They listed 80 cents each for 250 and no additional fees. So I figured for one that size, it might be doable.... Even having to order more than double, what I need, it would still be cheaper!

Where would I find such a device? Print shop?

I looked in the phone book for metal work I think at the time. Maybe Custom Fabrication.
