Hey, I am fifteen and my parents have been divorced since I was 7. My mom has had custody for the last 7 to 8 years. Most of the time my mom is my best friend, but every month or so she has and episode, where she goes in to a bout of depression and irrational anger for 3 to 4 days. A recent episode was pretty bad, and the courts awarded my father temporary custody. The need for this was unfortunat, but since my mother got the police involved my dad was forced to go back to court and change some stuff around. I would appreciate your opinions on the below preposed court order.
1. The Plaintiff (My dad) shall continue to be awarded the temporary custody of the parties' minor child, Jonathan Mullen, age 15 with a date of birth of May 14 1987, untill further order of the Court.
2. The Defendant (My mom) shall be awarded reasonable and seasonable visitation with the minor child until further order of the court. The preference of Jonathan will weigh heavily upon the amount and time of visitation.
3. The Defendant shall not, at this time, be responsible to pay Plaintiff child support at the Plaintiff's child support.
I in no means want to cut my mom out of my life, I am just not able to continue to deal with the depression swings. I would like to continue with how the visitation was before with the ability to go to my dad's if my mom had a swing of depression. My mom is now supposedly getting help for the depression, which was very important to me.
What should I look at having them change, what could pose a problem?
