CUSL2C-based PC Won't Boot

I just got the final part for my new PC yesterday so I put it together and fired it up.
It doesn't come up. It doesn't boot into the bios. It doesn't show any video output at all. It doesn't even provide any diagnostic beeps.

The PC has the following configuration: Asus CUSL2C motherboard, 1 ghz P III, Enermax 350 watt power supply, radeon LE, 3COM ethernet card, Crucial CAS2 Memory, Toshiba DVD-ROM, IBM 60 GB HD, no floppy.
I
believe I've narrowed it down to the motherboard, CPU, power supply, or (hopefully) operator error of some kind!

The Radeon works on my other PC. Swapping in different memory didn't help either.

The motherboard appears to be working to some degree at least. The power LED on the board goes on, the light on the front of the PC goes on, the power switch turns the power supply and motherboard on, the fans powered from the motherboard work.

The power supply also appears to be working as far as I can tell. I don't have a voltmeter, though to check all the voltages coming to the board.

I don't know if the CPU is working. It is getting warm but not hot. If I take the CPU out and apply power, THEN I get the ASUS diagnostic beeps out of the speaker.

I've got the CPU jumpers set to the JumperFree off mode.

My current strategy is to swap the CPU, motherboard, and then power supply in that order.

try it again w/ the cpu make sure it is in there good (jiggle it around so you know it is seated way down and all the way) then take your ram out and reseat it (maybe try a different slot...)

oh yeah and one more thing make sure your AGP card is in there good... because many new slots are tight and you think you have it in all the way, but you don't... go ahead and make sure all of your other cards are seated good too... sometimes they aren't and it'll make a small short big enough to keep you from booting...
