I've built my first computer and so far so good except for the sound card. When I install the sound card I get the blue screen which specifies "Fatal exception VXD-EMU10K1(01)". I noticed also that it doesn't install the game port and other stuff associated witht the sound card. The device manager just shows the "sb live value" I don't have onboard audion but in the bios I've tried "disable" and "auto" for the onboard modem and audio controller just to see it that changed anything and it didn't. I get this blue screen whenever I start up the pc, try to play a sound, and sometimes when I turn off the pc. One time I did get a message saying that the card was already in use. Any idea as to what I have done wrong in the bios or where? I've put hardware in a pc before but this is the first time I've messed with the bios. Thanks for any help.
