Will the CUSL2 accept a P3 1Gz. The specs I saw were 450-933. Also what is the fastest celeron it will accept. The specs I saw were 333-566.

i also noticed those specs when i bought my board, but if you look around the forums here, you'll find hundreds of people running CPUs @ 1GHz and over on the CUSL2 (most of them OCed of course). but whether you are running a P3 1GHz or OCing a P3 700 to 1GHZ shouldnt matter...once a CPU is overclocked, any benchmarking program will clock it at its OCed speed, not its default speed. unless something in the BIOS recognizes a CPU as a 700 OCed to 1GHZ, and not a P3 1GHZ, it should run fine. the fact of the matter is that many people buy the CUSL2 for its amazing quality and stability, and the CPU speeds that many people achieve with this mobo are 1GHz and well over, whether it is an OCed CPU or a CPU @ default 1GHz.

Sure, bear in mind that this is a fc-pga motherboard, according to the intel website below, there is only 1 version of 1ghz fc-pga CPU @ 133fsb, rest are all slot 1. I think intel is having problems manufacturing higher end on these fc-pgas.. they're not even widely available for purchase yet.. also the high price.. there also is a note there #9, require a mb with split plane for vcc.. what ever that means.

Yes is the answer, there is a bios update that takes care of the 1 gig and DMI info!! Check Asus' online support.

But why pay the kind of money for a 1GHz part, when you can overclock for a better value? :Q
