I hear all this talk about 2nd usb port responsible for soundcard problems on the CUSL2 mobo and would like to add my 2 cents.
I cannot confirm the afore statements made. What I can say however that that is not at all true in my case. I have all my usb ports enabled and I am using a SB Live card. I have never had a problem with my sound card in any board that I have used (and I have used many). From experience I noticed that SB Live defaults to IRQ 10 and that is the IRQ that I have given it in any board that I use. In the case of my current setup here is what I recommend: (CUSL2 Board)
PCI slot 6 = SB Live (In BIOS under PIC config assign slot IRQ 10, slot 6 is not a shared slot).
If DOS emulation is needed and installed go to device manager and change the DOS emulation to use IRQ 5 (that was the old IRQ for SB 16 in the days of DOS) IRQ 5 is shared with the AGP slot but it will not matter too much since most of us hardly use the DOS emulation. With this setup I am able to have all my USB ports on and no conflict. Here are the rest of my slot usage: The IRQs are assigned in the BIOS (no auto nothing for me, I want it my way)
PCI 1 = PCI Modem (IRQ 3)
PCI 2 = Promise Ultra 66 (IRQ 11)
PCI 3 = SMC Network Card (IRQ 4)
PCI 4 = Tekram Ultra SCSI (IRQ 7) Printer port not used because of print
server, otherwise I could share an IRQ like 9 which i usually use
on my other boards.
PCI 5 = Empty (slot shared with slot 1) now bracket is used for Digital
I/O card used with soundcard for miniDisc.
PCI 6 = Sbond Blaster live X-Gamer (IRQ 10)
I must confess

that in my case I may have another IRQ to spare, IRQ 6 (which I noticed was assigned to one of the usb ports) I do not have a floppy disk drive. I opted for an LS-120 instead and a 250 Zip drive, both of which uses my 2nd IDE channel as master/slave.
So as you can see, along with the table on page 28 of the manual you can have quite a bit of flexability on the board with out disablinig any thing that you might need. I just set up a CULS2 for my brother with the same settings except he has a floppy and all is fine for him too.
hope this helps
