cursor freezes up

The cursor freezes up on me sometimes. I don't know if it is the mouse. we can still use the tab feature and the arrow features of the keyboard to navigate on websites and restarting the pc upon alt+tab+delete. However I do not know if getting a new mouse will solve the issue. The pc system is an emachine and I do not know if it is a motherboard issue.
 
this was happening to me alot lately too

for no reason, the cursor will just freeze. if i moved the mouse around i could still click on things and change window focus, just no cursor.

updating nvidia drivers for my 6800 seemed to have taken care of it
 
What do you mean by change windows focus? In my case the cursor would not move with the mouse. I could not even right mouse click.
