Current Web Host Want's $15.00 Fee For Parked Domain

All these guys have to do is allow me permission to add a domain. That's two seconds effort using their control panel. It won't be using any more bandwidth, support or anything!

I've already purchased the name from NameCheap for $8.88, and pointed the DNS address to the current server. They want $15.00 for the same domain registration, though they say they'll match prices. The account comes due at the end of the month. They're getting $35.00 per year at this point, which is fair given the good service. However, I've got a price of about $24.00 per year from 2MHost.com. I emailed them asking how much they would want for one extra parked domain. If they'll do it for free, should I bail on the current host?

I'm surprised they are even charging for an addon domain. If you use a control panel such as cPanel, all that they need to do is allow you to add it. cPanel will create all the necessary dns zones.

If you really want them to price match send them a link to the front page of Telnap.com. The $24.95 package includes 1 addon domain name. Unforunately hosting companies don't have pricematch policies similar to those of stores where they would give you 110% of a pricematch as then they'd be refunding you.

Thanks for the link, I forgot about Telnap. My sister-in-law just got an account with them for $15.00 per year during a special they had. She had to bail on Ripplehost, when they went flaky.
