Ups has shown my tracking status as info created, not yet shipped since the 28th while the tmo site says estimated delivery on the 3rd.

T-Mobile's site said my delivery date would be 6/2, even though when I ordered it said 5/31, which is when it came. So mine arrived yesterday. Still nothing on my account, and I haven't called them to do anything with the line yet either.

Wait, did you get it today?

Mine is out for delivery today. Hopefully I can get back in time from work to get it, or I'll just pick it up tomorrow at ups.

If my account doesn't activate on its own, I think I'm just going to call and have them activate the account and then call again to deactivate it.

I have it activated on my account with a phone number assigned, but when selecting the mobile broadband part of my plan that is blank.

Ups finallly updated to show item in transit with a 6/3 delivery date. It's only coming from 2 states away though so maybe it pops in a day early.

WTF?????

UPS made a delivery attempt this afternoon. I called to have them hold it at the warehouse so I could pick it up tomorrow. UPS tells me that I have to "contact the shipper" to allow me to pick it up at ups. WTF????

What kind of idiot would put that restriction in there?

Mine required a signature, which UPS almost never does - luckily, I was home at the time.

I'm fine with requiring a signature, but not allowing me to pick it up at the warehouse? You can sign for it there.

Is the data working on it? How do you like the little thing?

Edit: I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone with TMobile to set up a will call at the UPS warehouse

Yes, that's odd on the shipping, I agree.

I haven't tried the 3G service - I assume its not working since I haven't put the SIM card in :) I'm using it on wifi, which is ok, considering I can tether it no problem.

Its about what I expected. Its nice, but not spectacular - I'm happy with it for $100, but wouldn't have paid $500 for it. Every app I've tried has worked, some better than others at the higher resolution...but they do all work, at any rate. My personal comparison is to the PlayBook, since that's what I already had...while the much higher app count is certainly nice, as far general usability & web browsing, the PlayBook is superior.

I got it for my girlfriend, who likes my PlayBook but won't spend $500 either, and it will do fine for her...she wants to watch TV (which it will do after I put the modified Flash APK on there), videos for school, and play games on the bus to work...it will certainly fit the bill for those needs.

Mine at home waiting for me. 2.3 speeds up the device noticeably especially web browsing. 2.2 browser is just like the Vibrant. Painfully slow if there are couple of pictures. 2.3 is comparable with the iPad browser as far as scrolling and zooming in and out.

guess with my recent order/calls to tmobile it trigger me to have tmobile telemarketing arm call me. sounded like some college chick doing her summer job. after going through and trying to see if she can sell me net access (have unlimited for $30 total for both phones along with $10 unlimited text and use tethering on the go with the laptop). since I only pay 90 something after discount for all my stuff, the closest thing she could do was say the 600 minutes a month is kinda low (yet fine with unlimited to house or any other tmo which is several of the family). sometimes it pays to be a long term customer.

Ok. I unboxed mine and looked over the unit. Everything looks brand new including the accessories. It was at 0% battery power though. It's probably been sitting in a warehouse since November of last year. I plugged it in on my AT&T charger and powered it on. Unlike the AT&T Tab it didn't come with the SIM card installed. The preinstalled junk programs are little different from the AT&T version. Typical T-Mobile preinstalled apps. I moved around various screens testing for responsiveness and it was pretty good but little slower than my Gingerbread AT&T Tab. Then I opened the web browser and went to Engadget site desktop mode on the 2.2 Froyo T-Mobile Tab and 2.3.3 Gingerbread AT&T Tab. I compared it side by side scrolling and zooming in and out of the page. The difference is like night and day. Well maybe not that drastic but very noticeable. The Ginger Tab is almost iPad browser smooth. It feels GPU accelerated like Opera Mobile. 2.2 Froyo T-Mobile Tab is choppy and skips while scrolling up and down the page and zooming in and out. If you want good browsing experience on the Tab, 2.3.3 Gingerbread update is a must. Luckily GSM Tab has official Samsung update you can flash.

AT&T Tab has really nice texture back that makes it easier to hold and harder to scratch. T-Mobile Tab has smooth back. I prefer the texture back of the AT&T Tab. I'm going to put the Scosche leather case on the T-Mobile Tab and go bare on the AT&T one.

Talking to T-Mobile now about canceling the plan. It's not going well. They claim I'm under contract even though their system and my online account shows it as Even More Plus plan. Looks like the device is going back. But I be damned if it's on my dime.

edit: no go. The device is going back. They won't budge, and I don't care enough to pursue any further. They are covering return shipping.

How many csr's have you talked to? I've talked to several so far, and every one has said that I'll be able to cancel. You might try to just call again ;)

Two. It's done deal for me and going back. They admit it's their error but won't bulge for me. Ive been Tmobile customer for 13 years. I have to send it back and then call them again to cancel the line. Isn't there some kind of law once I receive the product and paid for it it's mine? I'm pretty disappointed T-Mobile won't eat the small loss to keep me happy as a customer but you win some, lose some.

T-Mobile will eat bigger loss on these Tabs the longer they hold on to them. I'll get the files and IMEI number I need before sending this back. I will make sure they get back very well used Tab worthy of refurbished name. ;)

I picked up my Tab today. Inserted the sim card and it went to a prepaid page. And the only thing in my contract that has shown up is my order. No plan. The order is not specific about no contract/contract. I call and get sent to a higher level of support and I convince the lady to allow me to get the even more plus plan, but the system won't let them. She dumps me onto someone, and he dumps me onto someone else, get bumped up again, and then get to someone random.

I bought it with my account & am afraid they'll charge me for the full $400. I'm to spent by their CS that I'll wait a few days. I probably will just return it.

Maybe I should just jump to verizon tomorrow. I'll pay an ETF, but $200 is still a deal on a Tab. I wonder if they would catch up with me on the tab's purchase :hmm:

:D You're crazy to even think about paying the $200 ETF. That means ~$314 final price with tax and that's way too much for this "refurbished" device when you can pick up new Asus Transformer for $400. This is sub $200 tablet with last year tech. Let the boneheads at T-Mobile pay for shipping both ways and spend money reconditioning the item again. They'll lose even more money.

I called again tonight as final attempt to find someone who could be reasoned with. Same roadblock. They refuse to honor their advertised plan. I'm not supposed to have Even More Plus even though I have it. So I can't exercise my right to cancel without contract because even though I have the Plus plan, they would take a loss so they can't honor it. WTF. Clear "bait & switch". I'm done calling them trying to reason with them. That was my third and final call. Device is going back next week after I get what I need off of it. I have filed written complaint with the Better Business Bureau, FCC, and the FTC. Tomorrow I will contact the Governor's Office of Consumer Protection as my state attorney general office doesn't handle general consumer affair. I'm not expecting anything to come from this but a business should be held accountable to the same standard and not change things to suit them. It's pretty crazy they would do this to their existing customer over a petty amount of +-$100. It's going to cost them much more in the long run over customer dissatisfaction. It saddens me AT&T is buying them so I won't have the pleasure of leaving T-Mobile when my contract is up.

No, I was wondering if the $99 would ever get charged to me. Probably would, though. What pisses me off most is the fact that I got transferred 7 or 8 times and pretty much dumped by 2 CSRs.

I really like the size of the thing though. I may get a Nook Color, now.

Mine is on the way back. Never even opened up the box. Called the night I got it to cancel the plan and the guy told me on his system it showed me under contract. Told him my order phone stated a no contract plan and he said to take it into a retail store. So did that the next day and she said her system showed it also as being on contract but was confused as the order form did indeed show no contract. So she called in and didn't get any further with them other than getting them to say it would be 450 without a plan or as is with a 2 year contract. So I took it across the street to drop it off at the ups store and tmo is out the 22 it cost to ship it back along with whatever it cost to send out in the first place.

Today I get a call from T-Mobile about my Better Business Bureau complaint. :awe: I wasn't expecting a call so soon. I figured it would take min 6-8 weeks before I got a reply if I got one at all. T-Mobile rep tells me the price of the Tab was an error but since their website made the mistake and my online plan is showing I have the Even More Plus plan which has no contract, I can keep the tab for $99 and he will cancel the contract. He made it sound like I just scored the deal of the lifetime and they were doing me a huge favor. I told him I sent the Tab back this morning which I did since I didn't want to be stuck with the 2yr contract. He seemed surprised and relieved. He quickly said since I sent the device back, he would update the BBB and cancel my Even More Plus line and keep an eye on any charges to my account. Then he quickly ended the call.

T-Mobile is supposed to have the best customer service of the big 4. If this is good customer service, I'm afraid to know bad. Good customer service would have asked me how they can make the situation right and offer to send replacement tablet. He must think I filed the BBB complaint because I didn't know how to send back a tablet which they requested. I'm sure I will hear back from BBB to see if the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. I will tell them no.

The T-Mobile guy must thought this was the end. :D Little does he know I also filed complaint with the FCC, FTC, and my state Governor's Office of Consumer Protection. :sneaky:
